Three Low Back Stretches To Do First Thing In The Morning in Durham NC

Today we are going to show you the first thing you need to do when you get up in the morning. The exercises we’re about to show you will help ease tightness from the low back.


Morning Stretches in Durham NC

First Stretch:

  1. First, lie on your back with pillow under the thighs for about one minute and relax.
  2. Second, gently pull one leg towards your chest and hold it for 3-5 seconds. Alternate legs.
  3. Do this for 5-10 times for each leg.
  4. Third, gently pull both legs towards your chest and hold it for 3-5 seconds. You can hold knees or under thighs (whichever is easier for you).

Second Stretch:

The next one we’re going to show you gives a great stretch as well.

  1. Bend one leg, then cross your other leg on top, like so. Then, place your hands either on top of the knee or under the thigh. Bring your knee up to your chest. Hold this position for 3-5 seconds. Then? Alternate. Make sure that you are not lifting the head off of the bed.
  2. Do this 5-10 times each leg. Make sure to gently pull. Do not pull hard.
  3. Lastly, roll to side and rise as we’ve shown you how to get up from bed in previous video.
